    1. They do have souls, Tam, you're right. They seem to come alive when I make the final stitch :)

I have four more characters on the go. I'm averaging two hours sleep a night at the moment, so I'm bleary eyed and coffee/chocolate dependent. Good thing most of my work entails me sitting down, otherwise I'd be falling down, lol.
But, when I look at their wee faces, looking back at me, it's all worth it.

  2. Omg! I'm in love!
    With them both.
The colors, the expressions on their faces.
It's obvious that they are real,
but only the young and young at heart will know that.
    Bravo! Bravo!
    You've done it again.
    :)

    1. Thank you Cindi. It's funny, but when I'm working into the wee hours, and the house is dark and silent, I glance up from what I'm doing to see my creations looking down from the shelf, I could swear I see them move and the glint in their eyes is not a trick of the light... but then, sleep deprivation can do that to a person :)
But I will say, they have charm, character and appeal. Not quite sure how it all happened really :)

You might see a double up from time to time, as I present some images on Instagram.

    1. Thank you EC. They turned out better than I could ever have hoped.
It's an absolute pleasure making these "old" new characters :)

  5. I still miss my old Red Bear.He was a gift when I was a baby, sat on my bookshelf while I slept, had his ears chewed by teething child (and kittens), his nose kissed off and re-stitched wonkily by an eight year old...and consigned to the dustbin by a mother who didn't think he could or should outlive moths.
Do people buy your pieces for their own memories, or for a new generation?

    1. Oh, that's sad that you don't still have your old bear. There's something comforting in having one's beloved silent companion long into adulthood. They hold so many of our emotions within them, and never complain about it...

My furry friends are collectibles, and recommended for the child at heart :)
Jasper and Bartholomew have already been adopted by women who fell in love with them at first sight.

  6. Jasper and Bartholomew are amazing. I don't doubt at all that your creations each have a wonderful, magical soul, Vicki. You love them as you create them, and that brings their souls to them. Then their souls are fed even more by the other people who love them, even if those people are loving them from far, far away. :)

    Blessings,

    Victoria

    1. Thank you Victoria. I look at them and think that they are new creations, with old souls.
It's so nice to know they are loved from atop a magical mountain, far, far away :)

    1. Thank you Tracy :)
Yes, Jasper is wearing a very old vintage divinely deep emerald green velvet ribbon from France. The colour complemented him so very well and he was snapped up almost straight away at the market. He's gone to a loving home, as has Bartholomew :)

I do love making these companions for the child at heart - they're not for children - and many people do seem very drawn to them.
      Wishing you a wonderful week!
